Telehealth Centers of Excellence
The Office for the Advancement of Telehealth within the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funds the Telehealth Centers of Excellence. Telehealth Centers of Excellence are established, successful, and self-sustaining telehealth programs that serve as clearinghouses for telehealth resources.
The Telehealth Centers of Excellence produce telehealth tools and resources that may benefit rural communities. Examples of these resources include:
- Defining and Deploying an Open-Access Telehealth Network in South Carolina, developed by the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), which describes the process for deploying and importance of open-access telehealth networks (OAN).
- Telehealth Service Implementation Model (T-SIM©): A Framework for Telehealth Service Development, Implementation, and Sustainability, developed by MUSC, which describes the phases of the Telehealth Service Implementation Model (TSIM), a guiding framework for telehealth deployment.
