Fall Prevention Models to Prevent Unintentional Injury
Falls are a leading cause of unintentional injury, especially among older adults. Older adults are at greater risk of falls due to a combination of factors, such as their physical condition, side effects from medications, and impaired vision or other health conditions. Falls are also more likely to cause injury to older adults than younger individuals, which may lead to expensive medical visits and lasting health issues.
In addition, falls can occur during occupational activities, such as falling off farm equipment or from construction platforms. These falls are almost always preventable when proper safety protocols, prevention measures, and caution are used.
