Dissemination Audiences
Media and public communications are essential to educating the public and other stakeholders about the importance of preventing the spread of HIV and engaging and retaining people who are living with HIV/AIDS in treatment. Media campaigns have been launched by large HIV/AIDS organizations as well as small, local community-based organizations and health departments to disseminate information to the public about HIV prevention strategies, the importance of regular testing, and the relationship between medication adherence and positive health outcomes. Rural HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs share their experiences with different audiences.
