Primary Care Training and Enhancement: Residency Training in Primary Care (PCTE-RTPC) Program Inactive
To increase the distribution of primary care physicians in rural and underserved areas, this grant is designed to enhance accredited residency training programs in family medicine, general internal medicine, general pediatrics, or combined internal medicine and pediatrics (med-peds) in rural and/or underserved areas. Funds can also support the development of rural and/or underserved residency tracks within existing accredited residency programs.

Opioid Workforce Expansion Program - Paraprofessionals Inactive
Grants to train behavioral health-related paraprofessionals, such as peer support specialists, to address the behavioral health needs, including opioid use and substance use, in high-need underserved and rural populations. A special emphasis is on demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the specific concerns of children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth in high need and high demand areas who are at risk for behavioral health disorders.

Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention (NEPQR) – Veteran Nurses in Primary Care (VNPC) Training Program Inactive
Grants to recruit and train military veteran nursing students to practice at the full scope of their license in community-based primary care teams. In addition, the VNPC Training Program will provide professional development opportunities and educational support for practicing Registered Nurses/preceptors aimed at developing primary care expertise and skill sets to provide high-quality care that addresses the unique needs of veterans.
