Oral health is an integral component of an individual's health and well-being. Research demonstrates that poor oral health is related to a range of diseases. Access to oral healthcare services and having routine examinations can help to improve oral health and prevent disease. Rural communities experience less access to care, lower utilization of services, and worse oral health outcomes compared to urban communities. This module provides an overview of oral health in rural America.
