Models for MOUD Systems of Care
Providing medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) requires a system of care that relies on collaboration of a clinical team, including waivered prescribers, other medical providers, and support staff, as well as coordination of additional support services. MOUD programs are often established in primary care settings, and there are different models within the primary care setting that can support implementation.
This section describes five models for delivering MOUD services in rural areas, including implementation considerations and promising rural programs using these models of care.
