VA Quality Scholars Fellowship
Two-year residential fellowship for clinicians who are interested in making veteran healthcare equitable and accessible for marginalized and rural populations. Fellows split their time between in-person clinical work, independent studies, and structured didactics while guided by a set of experienced mentors.

VA Office of Rural Health Funding Programs
Funding, technical assistance, and mentoring for rural VA facilities to implement promising practices and/or enterprise-wide initiatives.

Veterans Affairs Health Professional Scholarship Program (HPSP)
Scholarships for health professions students in disciplines for which recruitment or retention is difficult, as determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. A minimum service obligation of 2 years is required.

Veterans Affairs Specialty Education Loan Repayment Program (SELRP)
Loan repayment assistance for recent graduates of an accredited medical or osteopathic school that are currently enrolled or matched to a residency specialty identified as a shortage by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. A minimum service obligation of 24 months is required.

Virtual Living Room - Using Technology to Address the Critical Healthcare Needs of Veterans in Rural Areas
A grant program that combines rural technology, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs resources, and local support to provide solutions to improve healthcare access for veterans in rural areas.

VA Rural Scholars Fellowship Inactive
Two year fellowship program designed to develop a cadre of Veterans Health Administration clinicians with the skills, knowledge, and professional networks necessary to become leaders and innovators in rural healthcare delivery systems.

Pilot Program for Graduate Medical Education and Residency (PPGMER) Inactive
Funding to improve healthcare access for veterans and others living in rural and underserved regions by supporting resident physician rotations and new graduate medical education programs at high-priority locations.

Vet Center Scholarship Program Inactive
Scholarships for specific behavioral/mental health professional students. Recipients agree to a 6 year service obligation at a Vet Center Readjustment Counseling Service site. Applicants from rural, tribal, and other underserved communities are encouraged.

Grants for Transportation of Veterans in Highly Rural Areas Inactive
Grants for new organizations to assist veterans with transportation in highly rural areas. Applicants should provide transportation services to VA medical centers and assist with transportation services in connection with the provision of VA medical care to these veterans.

Staff Sergeant Fox Suicide Prevention Grants Inactive
Community-based grants for eligible entities to provide, or coordinate the provision of, suicide prevention services to eligible veterans and their families. Priority is given to rural communities, tribal lands, medically underserved areas, and U.S. Territories.
