Purpose

The Licensed Vocational Nurse Loan Repayment Program provides loan repayment assistance for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) practicing in in qualified facilities in California.

Recipients must agree to a minimum 1 year, full-time service agreement with a qualified facility.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are California residents who are currently licensed and practicing as Vocational Nurses in California.

Eligible geographic areas and approved site designations:

  • Medically Underserved Areas (MUA)
  • Primary Care Shortage Areas (PCSA)
  • Health Professional Shortage Areas – Primary Care (HPSA-PC)
  • Registered Nurse Shortage Areas (RNSA)
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC)
  • Rural Health Clinics
  • Native American Health Centers
  • Children's Hospitals
  • Reproductive Health Clinics
  • Correctional Facilities
  • County-Operated Health Facilities
  • Public School Facilities
  • Skilled Nursing Facilities
  • State-Operated Health Facilities
  • Substance Use Facilities
  • Veteran's Facilities
