Purpose

The Advanced Practice Healthcare Scholarship Program will award scholarships for California residents who are enrolled in advanced practice healthcare programs and are willing to work in a medically underserved area of California after graduation.

Recipients must agree to provide direct patient care on a full time basis in a designated shortage area in California for a minimum of 1 year.

Eligibility

California residents who are free from any other service obligations and are enrolled in California schools in one of the following advanced practice health professional education programs:

  • Certified nurse midwife
  • Clinical nurse specialist
  • Nurse anesthetist
  • Certified nurse practitioner
  • Pharmacist
  • Physical therapist
  • Physician assistant
  • Dentist
  • Chiropractor
  • Rehabilitation counselor

Up to $25,000 in return for 1 year of service.
