Planning and development grants to establish new accredited or expanded community-based primary care residency programs in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine-pediatrics, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and/or geriatrics. The program is designed to support the expansion of the primary care physician and dental workforce in rural and underserved communities.

Quality Improvement Fund - Maternal Health (QIF-MH) Inactive
Funding to improve maternal health and reduce racial and ethnic maternal health disparities by supporting health centers in developing and piloting innovative, patient-centered, scalable models of care delivery. Projects should address the clinical and health-related social needs of health center patients at highest risk of maternal morbidity and mortality. Funding for community organizations working in partnership with research organizations to develop, implement, assess, and disseminate health equity structural interventions designed to break the cycle of health disparities. Applications that focus on rural communities are encouraged.

Rural Health Network Development Program Inactive
Grants for healthcare networks in rural areas to address gaps in service, enhance systems of care, and expand capacity of the local healthcare system. The purpose of this program is to support rural integrated healthcare networks that have combined the functions of the entities participating in the network in order to achieve efficiencies; expand access to, coordinate, and improve the quality of essential healthcare services; and strengthen the rural healthcare system as a whole.

Geriatrics Academic Career Award Program Inactive
Funding to support the career development of junior faculty in geriatrics as academic geriatricians or academic geriatrics specialists. The overall goals of the program are to develop the necessary skills to lead healthcare transformation in a variety of settings, including rural and/or medically underserved settings, to be age-friendly and to provide training in clinical geriatrics, including the training of interprofessional teams of healthcare professionals to provide healthcare for older adults.

Native Hawaiian Resource Center on Domestic Violence Inactive
Funding to a single entity to establish and maintain a Native Hawaiian Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NHRCDV). The NHRCDV will provide technical assistance and training resources for Native Hawaiian-serving organizations to enhance their capacity to respond to domestic violence, including Native Hawaiian communities and programs in areas that are geographically isolated where community-level involvement is necessary.
