Union Pacific Foundation Community Ties Giving Program: Local Grants
Grants to nonprofit organizations to support direct services and capacity building efforts aimed at improving the quality of life in communities served by Union Pacific in the areas of safety, workforce development, community vitality, and environmental sustainability. Special emphasis is given to programs and organizations that serve populations in local communities. Rural communities have been awarded funding in the past.

Native American Agriculture Fund Grants
Grants to support Native American farmers and ranchers, with special emphasis on traditional foods, food sovereignty programs, lending, youth programming, and climate resilience.

Ferry Service for Rural Communities Program
Funding for planning projects, operating assistance, and capital projects to purchase, construct, and rehabilitate rural ferries, terminals, and related infrastructure and equipment.

Appalachian Investments Supporting Partnerships In Recovery Ecosystems (INSPIRE) Initiative
Funding to assist in moving individuals in the Appalachian region from substance use disorder treatment to recovery to employment, with a focus on support services that enable and support individual successful entry or reentry into the workforce.

Alliant Energy Community Grants
Grants to build stronger communities in Iowa and Wisconsin with focus on hunger, housing, transportation, workforce, environmental stewardship, and community safety and engagement.

Delta Workforce Grant Program
Funding to build long-term community capacity and increase economic competitiveness by providing grants to support workforce training and education programs throughout the lower Mississippi River Delta and Alabama Black Belt regions.

Healthy Behaviors Healthy Spaces Grants
Grants to support projects that improve health and well-being in communities in the Western Tidewater region of Virginia and North Carolina. The foundation focuses on populations experiencing barriers to health and well-being based on geographic location and other factors.

Maryland Agricultural Education and Rural Development Assistance Fund
Grants to rural-serving nonprofit organizations in Maryland that promote statewide and regional planning, economic and community development, and agricultural and forestry education. Priority funding areas include agriculture, energy, rural broadband, youth engagement and economic and community development.

Rural Maryland Prosperity Investment Fund (RMPIF)
Grants to promote economic prosperity in Maryland's disadvantaged and underserved rural communities, with priority given to projects that address entrepreneurship, healthcare, infrastructure, and regional councils.

Western North Carolina Organizational Capacity Building Grants
Funding for internal capacity building support so organizations can more effectively advance work related to housing, education, economic opportunity and/or health and wellness in Western North Carolina.
