Dental Faculty Loan Repayment Program Inactive
Funding to establish a dental faculty loan repayment program with a priority for faculty within the disciplines of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, public health dentistry, and dental hygiene. Additional preference will be given to applicants providing loan repayment to pediatric dentistry faculty supervising dental students or residents and providing clinical services in dental clinics located in dental schools, hospitals, and community-based affiliated sites. Applicants are also encouraged to consider individual loan repayment recipients from rural and disadvantaged background and from underrepresented minorities.

Teaching Health Center Planning and Development Program Inactive
Planning and development grants to establish new accredited or expanded community-based primary care residency programs in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine-pediatrics, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and/or geriatrics. The program is designed to support the expansion of the primary care physician and dental workforce in rural and underserved communities.

Preventive Medicine Residency Program Inactive
Grants to provide graduate medical education training to preventive medicine residents for the purpose of increasing the number and quality of preventive medicine residents and physicians to support access to preventive medicine and to improve the health of communities.

Primary Care Training and Enhancement - Residency Training in Mental and Behavioral Health (PCTE-RTMB) Inactive
Grants to train primary care residents in mental and behavioral health for pediatric, adolescent, young adult, and other populations who are at-risk or have experienced abuse, trauma, or mental health and/or substance use disorders, including those related to the effects of gun violence. Priority will be given to proposals to train residents in rural areas, including for tribes or tribal organizations in rural areas.

Geriatrics Academic Career Award Program Inactive
Funding to support the career development of junior faculty in geriatrics as academic geriatricians or academic geriatrics specialists. The overall goals of the program are to develop the necessary skills to lead healthcare transformation in a variety of settings, including rural and/or medically underserved settings, to be age-friendly and to provide training in clinical geriatrics, including the training of interprofessional teams of healthcare professionals to provide healthcare for older adults.

Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention - Clinical Faculty and Preceptor Academies Program Inactive
Funding to prepare nurses to serve as nursing clinical faculty and preceptors to newly hired or transitioning licensed nurses in a variety of care settings in rural and underserved areas.

Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention - Registered Nurse Training Program Inactive
Funding to enhance nursing education and practice to advance the health of patients, families, and communities and improve health outcomes. The overall goal is to increase the number of nursing students trained in acute care settings to address and manage social determinant of health factors and improve health equity and health literacy in rural and underserved areas.

Community Health Worker Training Program Inactive
Grant to support programs to train new community health workers and extend the knowledge/skills of current CHWs and other health support workers in order to better meet the public health needs of underserved communities and strengthen public health emergency response.

Public Health Scholarship Program Inactive
Grants to strengthen the public health workforce by providing support to organizations to develop scholarship programs that incentivize individuals to pursue training and careers in public health. Projects should focus on workforce shortages, populations at highest risk for health disparities, low health literacy, social determinants of health, and infrastructure to provide necessary services in rural and underserved communities.

Health Workforce Research Center Cooperative Agreement Program Inactive
Funding to support and disseminate research on trends in health workforce. In this cycle, up to 9 centers will be funded in the areas of public health workforce, behavioral health workforce, health equity in health workforce, allied health workforce, long-term care support/services, oral health workforce, emerging workforce topics, and technical assistance.
