Applicants should conduct outreach and recruitment in rural and medically underserved areas; for educationally and/or economically disadvantaged students; and to former foster youth, veterans, immigrants, refugees, and adult/non-traditional learners.

California Substance Use Disorder Earn and Learn Program Inactive
Funding for organizations in California to provide education and paid job experience for students earning their substance use disorder certification. Awardees are expected to recruit and support students from underserved communities and focus on serving clients from underserved communities, which includes rural areas and Native American Rancherias, among others.

California Community-Based Organization Behavioral Health Workforce Grant Inactive
Funding to support community-based organizations (CBOs) to recruit and retain behavioral health personnel, and provide loan repayments, scholarships, and stipends to paid and unpaid CBO behavioral health staff.
