A national service program that provides resources and staffing for organizations and agencies working to alleviate poverty and address poverty-related problems in local communities.

AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC)
Program that allows local communities to engage teams of 8-12 AmeriCorps members to carry out service projects designed to strengthen local communities and meet critical needs in the areas of infrastructure improvement, environmental stewardship/conservation, natural and other disasters, energy conservation, and urban and rural development.

AmeriCorps State and National Grants
Funding for programs that are designed to strengthen communities and solve local problems, including those found in rural and underserved areas. Funding priorities include serving historically underrepresented communities, environmental stewardship, services for veterans, access to youth mental health and substance abuse services, and civic bridgebuilding.

American Connection Corps
A 1-year fellowship program that trains and mobilizes leaders to work in rural and emerging communities to coordinate broadband development and digital inclusion.

Senior Corps Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Inactive
Funding to develop and support Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) projects for volunteers 55 years and older in serving specific local and community needs. Applications from rural communities are encouraged.

AmeriCorps State and National Native Nation Planning Grants Inactive
Planning grants to support tribes in developing an AmeriCorps program that will engage AmeriCorps members in implementing evidence-based interventions to solve community problems.

AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program Replacement and Expansion Opportunity Inactive
Program that engages adults age 55 and over to provide mentorship for children and youth with special or exceptional needs, or who would benefit from the one-one-one attention. AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serve in schools, Head Starts, drug treatment centers, correctional institutions, and childcare centers. AmeriCorps Seniors Senior Companion Program Replacement and Expansion Opportunity Inactive
Program that engages adults age 55 and over to provide companionship and support to other adults in need of extra assistance to remain at home or in the community for as long as possible. Volunteers provide companionship to ease loneliness and social isolation, assisting with transportation and light chores, helping to serve as eyes and ears to professionals who can intervene in the case of medical or other deterioration on the part of the clients, and giving support to informal caregivers.
