Geriatrics Academic Career Award Program Inactive
Funding to support the career development of junior faculty in geriatrics as academic geriatricians or academic geriatrics specialists. The overall goals of the program are to develop the necessary skills to lead healthcare transformation in a variety of settings, including rural and/or medically underserved settings, to be age-friendly and to provide training in clinical geriatrics, including the training of interprofessional teams of healthcare professionals to provide healthcare for older adults.

The grantee will provide technical assistance and training to selected Native Boys and Girls Clubs to develop health and wellness programs that include the Together Raising Awareness for Indian Life (TRAIL) curriculum.

Intervening with Cancer Caregivers to Improve Patient Health Outcomes and Optimize Health Care Utilization (R01 and R21) Inactive
Funding for intervention research designed to support caregivers of adult cancer patients, with the goals of optimized patient healthcare utilization, improved caregiver well-being, and improved patient physical health and psychosocial outcomes. Special consideration is given to studies targeting medically underserved and underrepresented populations, including patients-caregivers in rural areas.

Palliative Care in Home and Community Settings Research (R01 and R21 Clinical Trial Optional) Inactive
Grants to support research aimed at determining needs and best practices for the integration of palliative care into home and community settings. Applications should consider approaches that may be implemented in rural/remote areas, as well as urban areas, and that are sensitive to ethnicities and cultures.

Native Hawaiian Resource Center on Domestic Violence Inactive
Funding to a single entity to establish and maintain a Native Hawaiian Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NHRCDV). The NHRCDV will provide technical assistance and training resources for Native Hawaiian-serving organizations to enhance their capacity to respond to domestic violence, including Native Hawaiian communities and programs in areas that are geographically isolated where community-level involvement is necessary.

Community Economic Development Focus on Energy Communities Inactive
Grants for projects aimed at business development opportunities and creating employment for low-income individuals located in energy communities that have experienced employment loss and/or economic dislocation because of declines in the fossil fuel industry and/or are disproportionately reliant on fossil fuel energy production or distribution. Bonus points are given to projects that create jobs in rural and tribal communities.

Nurse Education, Practice, Quality and Retention - Clinical Faculty and Preceptor Academies Program Inactive
Funding to prepare nurses to serve as nursing clinical faculty and preceptors to newly hired or transitioning licensed nurses in a variety of care settings in rural and underserved areas.
