Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Funding: Improving Mental and Behavioral Health

PCORI is offering funding for patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) projects that focus on improving mental and behavioral health. Studies should compare system, community, and individual level interventions that improve mental and behavioral health conditions.
Special areas of interest include:
- Mental and behavioral health of children and youth
- Suicide prevention and crisis response
- Strategies to improve mental healthcare access and delivery, specifically addressing geographic barriers (rural/frontier), stigma, and other systemic barriers
Eligible applicants include academic research, private sector research, or study-conducting entities. This may include agencies and instrumentalities of the federal government, nonprofit/for-profit research organizations, and colleges/universities, among others.
Award ceiling: $12,000,000
Project period: Up to 5 years

Applicants must submit a letter of intent through the online system by January 14, 2025. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application, with a deadline of May 6, 2025.
