The Michigan Department of Health and Human Service is offering funding for Quick Response Teams (QRTs) in Michigan for follow-up and outreach after an opioid overdose. QRTs assist in offering support to treatment for individuals with substance use disorder who have recently survived a non-fatal opioid overdose and face high risk for future overdose mortality.
Funding priorities:
- Facilitate access to harm reduction and treatment services within 24 to 72 hours following a non-fatal overdose
- Facilitate connections to recovery support services and treatment options as indicated
- Have an existing or develop a multidisciplinary quick response team to meet the complex behavioral health and social needs of overdose survivors. Team composition can vary but may include members such as law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, addiction professionals, and peer recovery coaches.
- Access to resources for treatment and other supports through well-established partnerships
- Successful development of partnerships across the gaps of treatment and recovery services
- Detailed project proposal, including a timeline for implementation of services
Eligible applicants include:
- SUD prevention providers
- SUD treatment providers
- Recovery community organizations
- Harm reduction organizations
- Federally recognized tribes
- Indian Health Service facilities
- Tribal, and urban Indian organizations
- SUD peer service organizations
Award ceiling: $150,000
Project period: March 1 - September 30,
