Climate and Health Demonstration Sites
The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and CDC are offering funding to support climate change and health adaptation initiatives at local organizations. Small and rural health departments will be given preference.
NACCHO supports local efforts to track, prevent, and mitigate the health effects of climate change, including:
- The incorporation of adaptation planning into land use, housing, and transportation design
- Preparing communities for extreme and unusual environmental events
- Coordinating with local governments on all-hazards disaster planning
Eligibility criteria:
- Be a local government entity or other local organization working in climate change and health, or a state, tribal, or territorial government entity proposing a local project with a letter of support from the local government entity
- Have experience working on local climate change and health initiatives
- Demonstrate the need for funding
Award ceiling: $16,000
Project period: February 1 – July 31,
2025
