Purpose

The Arkansas Rural Health Partnership is offering an Americorps service opportunity. Participants will be trained as community health workers who will promote health and well being in rural communities of the state.

The Rural Health Corps will address social determinants of health in order to achieve better health outcomes and foster a more equitable healthcare system. Activities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessment
  • Navigation
  • Enrollment
  • Assistance services
  • Advocacy
  • Education
  • Care coordination

The program runs from September 3, 2024 - July 31, 2025. Participants will serve 20-35 hours per week at a local hospital or healthcare clinic.

Eligibility

Individuals who are at least 18 years of age are eligible to apply.

Amount of funding

Participating Rural Health Corps members will receive a living allowance.

Members who complete their service are eligible for an Americorps education award.
