Purpose

AIDS United Harm Reduction Futures Fund provides funding for evidence-based and community-driven approaches to prevent the transmission of both HIV and viral hepatitis; reduce injection-related injuries; increase overdose prevention and reversal efforts; and connect people who use drugs to comprehensive prevention, treatment, and support services.

  • Direct syringe services programs
  • Multiple syringe service sites providing direct services
  • Activities focused on legalizing or strengthening syringe services programs and other health interventions for people who use drugs (PWUD) at the local, state, or federal levels
Eligibility

Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and territories. Organizations and coalitions without 501(c)(3) status must have a fiscal sponsor that does. Applicants must have a total organizational budget of less than $1,500,000.

Direct service organizations with one site:

  • Award range: $10,000 - $25,000
  • Estimated number of awards: 5-13

Multiple direct service sites:

  • Award range: $25,000 - $40,000
  • Estimated number of awards: 1

Harm reduction advocacy projects:

  • Award range: $10,000 - $25,000
  • Estimated number of awards: 1

The project period is 1 year.

Submit the online pre-application survey by August 22, 2024. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal, with a deadline of October 24, 2024.
