Purpose

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama offers scholarships for health professions students in the state. The scholarships serve to improve access to quality, affordable healthcare for all people in Alabama, particularly in rural and underserved areas that experience health disparities.

Scholarships include:

  • Medical school, including psychiatrists and family medicine obstetrics
  • Nursing
  • Dental school
  • Certified nurse midwives

Some of the scholarships require a service commitment in a rural or underserved area of the state.
