The USDA Rural Housing Service is offering funding for intermediary organizations in Puerto Rico to carry out financial and technical assistance programs to housing, community facilities, and community and economic development projects in rural communities that have experienced a major disaster declared by the president.
Awards will help rural communities and nonprofit organizations to build capacity and readiness for more competitive funding applications and successful project completion in order to address community and economic challenges in rural disaster areas.
A detailed list of eligible activities is provided in the application instructions.
Applicants must be in Puerto Rico. Eligible applicants include:
- Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
- Public, state controlled, and private institutions of higher education
- State, city, township, and special district governments
- Independent school districts
- Native American tribal governments (federally recognized)
- Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments)
- For-profit organizations including small businesses
- Nonprofits with and without 501(c)(3)
Award ceiling: $250,000
Project period: 3 years
Estimated number of awards: 10
