Purpose

The Minnesota Workplace Safety Grants for Health Care Entities Program will provide grants to increase safety measures in healthcare settings in Minnesota with a focus on preventing workplace violence. Funding may be used to establish or expand programs to train staff in healthcare settings on de-escalation and positive support services.

Expected outcomes:

  • Staff report feeling safer at work
  • Staff turnover due to workplace safety concerns will decrease
  • Staff report increased confidence in their ability to mitigate, respond to, and/or report workplace safety incidents
  • Staff report increased support for staff and patients at their organization to prevent, respond to, and recover from workplace safety incidents
  • Contribute to a decrease in the number and severity of safety incidents at grantee workplaces
Eligibility

Eligible applicants:

  • Long-term care facilities
  • Acute care hospitals that are staffed for 49 beds or fewer and located in a rural area
  • Critical Access Hospitals
  • Medical clinics
  • Dental clinics
  • Community health clinics
