The Idaho Rural Nursing Loan Repayment Program (RNLR) provides loan repayment assistance for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses practicing direct care in rural and underserved areas in Idaho. Awardees must commit to 3 years of service.
Applicants must be a nurse practicing at least 32 hours per week, on average, providing direct patient care in an eligible area in Idaho. Eligible areas must be:
- Designated as a health professional shortage area (HPSA)
- A county with a population center of less than 20,000 people
- Or be a certified Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
Eligible employers may include, but are not limited to:
- Critical Access Hospitals
- Federally Qualified Health Centers
- Rural Health Clinics
- Long-term care facilities
- Public health districts
- State hospitals
- licensed home health agencies
- Licensed hospice agencies
- Tribal clinics
- Veterans health administration hospitals, clinics, and long-term care homes
- Indian health service clinics
Up to $25,000 over a 3 year period.
