Purpose

Sapphire Awards recognize outstanding programs, organizations, and individuals that are focused on helping people and communities in Florida achieve better health.

Awardees will excel in one or more of the following:

  • Creating groundbreaking, innovative, or technology-enabled interventions that address health disparities and improve community health
  • Demonstrating clear and impactful change in healthcare access and health outcomes
  • Leveraging resources, strategies, and relationships to advance cutting-edge solutions and collaborations that transform the lives of individuals and communities
  • Incorporating one or more of the Foundation's priority areas (Health equity, mental well-being, and food security)

Examples of innovative, transformational projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Virtual reality
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Mobile health applications
  • Virtual care options
  • Telehealth
  • Mobile health clinics
  • Farmers markets
  • Community health worker programs
  • Age friendly community initiatives

Awardees will be recognized at the Community Health Symposium scheduled for May 1-2, 2025 at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld.

Eligibility

Eligible nominees are programs, organizations, and individuals that are focused on helping people and communities in Florida achieve better health.

Amount of funding

A total of $525,000 is available to award.

Awards will be presented to first, second, and third place winners in each category, which includes program, organization, and individual. Awards to individuals will be distributed to the organization in which they are engaged.

  • First place - $100,000
  • Second place - $50,000
  • Third place - $25,000
