The Tennessee Department of Health will provide funding to increase breast and cervical cancer screening with a focus on populations who are underserved and who have increased cancer risk due to inequities.
Priorities include:
- Implement evidence-based interventions (EBIs) in partnership with health systems to increase cancer screening rates among all women
- Increase community engagement through education and outreach to populations disproportionately burdened by breast and cervical cancer, including but not limited to, those of ethnic or racial minorities and those in rural areas
- Increase access to needed breast and cervical services including wellness exams, screenings, follow-ups, and referrals by providing barrier-reduction activities such as but not limited to transportation, child or adult care, co-pay assistance, or additional access to resources in underserved areas
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations operating in Tennessee.
