The Native American-Serving Nontribal Institutions Program (NASNTI) will provide funding for eligible institutions of higher education to improve and expand capacity to serve Native Americans and low-income individuals.
Program priorities include:
- Meeting student social, emotional, academic, and career development needs with a focus on underserved students
- Increasing postsecondary education access, affordability, completion, and post-enrollment success
- Projects that support activities to strengthen and institutionalize native language preservation and revitalization
Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education that have undergraduate enrollment of at least 10% Native American.
Additional requirements include:
- Be accredited or preaccredited by a reliable, nationally recognized accrediting agency or association
- Be legally authorized by the state in which it is located to be a junior or community college or to provide an educational program for which it awards a bachelor's degree
- Has an enrollment of needy students and has low average education and general expenditures per full-time equivalent undergraduate student
