The Illinois Children's Healthcare Foundation will provide funding for learning opportunities and guidance to children and youth to encourage the exploration of healthcare career paths, particularly oral health and mental health. Funding will be geographically diverse, and preference will be given to projects in healthcare shortage areas.
Possible projects may include developing new partnerships between health training programs and schools, developing and/or expanding existing mentorship programs, and/or develop health care career shadowing programs in the focus areas of children's oral and mental health.
Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations that have the capacity to help children in Illinois learn more about careers in healthcare.
Preference may be given to organizations:
- Serving historically underrepresented youth populations
- Working in professional healthcare workforce shortage areas
- That can demonstrate the ability to sustain programming past the grant period
