The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) will offer a live, online master class designed for working professionals who want to learn more about accessing and utilizing capital from federal, state, and private sources for rural health development projects. The class will run in February and March, 2024.
Course objectives:
- Understand the collection of capital resources available to support rural health needs for infrastructure and social determinants of health
- Think critically about the use of partnerships and collaboration to develop fundable projects, stack capital, and achieve successful project outcomes
- Apply key learning from the training to further individual project work and organizational objectives
Course sessions:
- February 7, 2024 (Free and open to the public) - Introduction to Rural Health Capital Resources: Basic Concepts of Rural Health Capital and Community Finance
- March 6, 2024 (Free and open to the public) - Introduction to Capital Resources for Financing Rural Health Infrastructure and Community Development Projects
- March 13, 2024 (Fee required) - Working with Community Development Finance Institutions for Rural Health Infrastructure and Social Determinants of Health
- March 20, 2024 (Fee required) - Building Partnerships and Cross-Sector Approaches to Advance Rural Health
- March 27, 2024 (Fee required) - Philanthropy, Rural Prosperity, and Population Health – Connecting Community Needs to Capital Resources
The class is designed for health and community development professionals who serve rural communities, including:
- State Office of Rural Health, Primary Care Office, and nonprofit organization staff interested in developing partnerships with capital resource and community development organizations
- Community development organization staff interested in financing rural health development projects
- Clinic and hospital staff interested in multi-industry collaboration to access, navigate, and leverage funds for expansion and/or rehabilitation
- Organizations that have identified a community need and want guidance on how to attract capital resources and new partners to their project
There is no cost to attend the 100 Series sessions (February 7 and March 6).
Registration for the 200 Series sessions is $300.
