This opportunity will provide funding for projects to serve communities and populations with significant disparities to advance equity in adolescent health through the replication of evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs (EBPs) and services.
Proposed projects should:
- Focus on areas of greatest need and populations facing significant disparities
- Engage in a planning period
- Replicate to scale evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs with fidelity and quality
- Review materials prior to implementation
- Engage youth, caregivers, and the community throughout the project
- Connect to a network of adolescent friendly supportive services
- Ensure equitable, safe, supportive, and inclusive environments
- Monitor and improve the overall project
The following factors will be taken into consideration when making awards:
- Equitable geographic distribution
- Equitable distribution of project sites among rural, suburban, and urban communities
- Maximize benefit in historically underserved communities and populations of focus
- Diversity of implementation settings (such as schools, clinics, and houses of worship)
Eligible applicants include any public, private, for-profit, and nonprofit entity located in a state, territory, and the District of Columbia.
Examples of eligible applicants include:
- State, county, city, township, and special district governments
- Independent school districts
- Public, state controlled, and private institutions of higher education
- Federally recognized native American tribal governments
- Public housing authorities
- Indian housing authorities
- Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments)
- Nonprofits with and without 501(c)(3) status with the IRS
- For profit organizations
- Small businesses
Award ceiling: $2,000,000 per year
Award floor: $350,000 per year
Project period: 5 years
Estimated number of awards: 70
Estimated total program funding:
$68,625,000
