The Minnesota Department of Health will provide grants for improving the mental health of healthcare professionals in Minnesota through establishment or expansion of programs that are evidenced-based or evidenced-informed and are focused on addressing the mental health of healthcare professionals.
Outcomes should include:
- Identifying and addressing the barriers to and stigma among healthcare professionals associated with seeking self-care, including mental health and substance use disorder services
- Encouraging healthcare professionals to seek support and care for mental health and substance use disorder concerns
- Identifying risk factors associated with suicide and other mental health conditions
- Developing and making available resources to support healthcare professionals with self-care and resiliency
- Identifying internal structures that could be modified to mitigate negative stress work environments
Preference will be given to programs that involve peer-to-peer support.

- Health Care Systems
- Hospitals
- Clinics
- Nursing Facilities
- Community Health Clinics/Consortium of Clinics
- Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)
- Rural Health Clinics
- Health Professional Associations
- Community Mental Health Clinics
- Indian Health Services
