The Equity Innovation Lab is a 1-year microgrant program that offers funding, training, networking opportunities, and other resources to local community groups or small organizations seeking to implement projects that support LGBTQ+ elder adults from the following population groups:
- Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) elders
- Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Non-Binary (TGNBNC) elders
- Rural elders
Project areas include health, social, educational, and arts programming. Eligible projects may be a planning or needs assessment project or a new program or service.
Eligible applicants are community groups, coalitions or small organizations with annual operating budgets of $50,000 that work with and serve majority BIPOC, TGNBNC, and/or rural people ages 50 and older.
501(c)(3) nonprofit status is not required; however, unaffiliated groups need a fiscal sponsor in order to be eligible. Priority is given to groups and organizations with BIPOC, TGNBNC, and/or rural elder leadership.
Grants of $5,000 will be awarded to 6 organizations. Grantees will also receive training, resources, and networking support during the project period.
