Purpose

The Oregon Community Health Worker (CHW) Pilot Program will provide funding for training of community health workers for employment at Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs), Rural Health Clinics (RHCs), and rural public health departments in Oregon. The program will also include a peer-to-peer network for CHW students.

Eligibility

Critical Access Hospitals, Rural Health Clinics, and rural public health departments in Oregon that have the capacity to employ CHWs are eligible to apply.

Amount of funding

Funding will cover tuition expenses and course supplies up to $50.

Application process

A link to the online application form is available on the program website.

Applicants will be accepted until funding is depleted. The Office of Rural Health will coordinate training of 25 CHWs in 2025.
