The Minnesota Department of health will provide funding for projects in Minnesota focused on increasing the number of workers entering the long-term care (LTC) workforce.
Grant outcomes may include:
- Development and dissemination of a portfolio of promotional media to illustrate and elevate health careers in LTC, including use of materials and media outlets aimed at priority communities
- Establishment of academic-professional partnerships and pathways to promote the hiring of highly qualified learners from priority communities into the LTC workforce
- Promote opportunities for re-training into LTC specific roles for individuals re-entering the workforce
- Elevation of LTC careers in geographically isolated communities throughout Minnesota
- Creation and promotion of well-defined career ladders that foster worker retention
Priority populations and communities include:
- Racial and ethnic communities, including American Indians
- LGBTQI communities
- Minnesotans with disabilities
- Veterans
- Geographic areas within and across Minnesota, including isolated areas and urban areas
Eligible applicants include government, nonprofit, and for-profit organizations with experience working with the LTC community or delivering LTC services within Minnesota.
