Mississippi Rural Hospital Loan Program

The Mississippi State Department of Health provides loans for rural hospitals to assist in providing direct healthcare services for citizens of Mississippi.
Funds may be used for:
- Maintaining or upgrading the rural hospital's facilities
- Maintaining or increasing the current staff of the rural hospital
- Providing healthcare services that are not currently available to citizens
Eligible applicants are licensed hospitals that have 50 or fewer licensed general acute, non-specialty beds that are in good financial condition prior to application submission.
Loan amounts range from $25,000 - $100,000. Terms will range between 5-20 years, depending on the project type. The interest rate is fixed at 1% per year.
An application fee of $1,000 is due at the time of submission of the completed application. A commitment/closing fee of 1% with a minimum of $1,000.00 is due prior to the committee approval.
