Alaska Pathways to Leadership Program

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium provides a 9 month leadership program for Alaska Natives and Native American employees that work for Alaska Tribal Health System organizations. Upon program completion, participants receive a Certified Supervisor Certification, and graduates may choose to receive continuing education (CE) credits or undergraduate credits from Alaska Pacific University.
Participants will:
- Attend monthly trainings
- Meet with a mentor
- Job shadow
- Attend an executive meeting
- Complete community service hours
- Attend a networking event
- Attend book club discussions
- Write a group project proposal for review by the executive team
- Take the Certified Supervisor Certification exam
In addition to being Alaska Native or Native American, applicants must:
- Be a Tribal Health Organization employee for a minimum of 9 months by program kick off (September 19, 2024)
- Be a current or former supervisor/team lead for a minimum of 1 year
- Have no corrective actions, and be in "good standing" for the past 12 months
- Have received a "meets expectations" (or higher) on annual performance evaluation or employees who haven't received an evaluation must obtain a letter of recommendation from their supervisor
- Both applicant and applicant's supervisor must agree to sign the Program Time and Obligations form
The program is provided at no cost for accepted participants.
