Purpose

The Zenni Scholarship to Advance Children's Vision will provide:

  • Scholarships for the National Center for Children's Vision and Eye Health Children's Vision Screening Certification Course. Completion of the course provides 5 contact hours for professional development and a nationally recognized certificate for vision screening tools and procedures for preschool and school-age children.
  • Access to vouchers for the full cost of Zenni eyeglasses for eligible children served by scholarship recipients. This includes children who do not otherwise have public or private insurance to cover the cost of new or replacement eyeglasses
Eligibility

Eligible scholarship recipients include professionals working in early care and education programs, schools, public health, home visiting, and primary healthcare settings. Applicants from rural areas are encouraged.

Scholarships are not available in states with Prevent Blindness Affiliates, including Texas, Wisconsin, Iowa, Georgia, North Carolina, and Ohio.

Available in all states except Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin
Amount of funding

Scholarship recipients will receive the training course and access to eyeglass vouchers at no cost.

Application process

A link to the online application is available on the program website when applications are being accepted.

Scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants on a first come, first served basis until funding is exhausted.
