The Water Environment Federation is offering automatic samplers and flow meters, in addition to training and troubleshooting for small, rural, tribal, and territorial wastewater utilities to do wastewater surveillance. In addition to disease surveillance, samplers will enable improved understanding of organic, solids, and nutrient loadings to wastewater treatment facilities.
Eligible applicants are wastewater utilities that have not participated in the program in the past and are one or more of the following:
- Located in a Health Resource and Service Administration rural county
- Serve communities with 10,000 or fewer people
- Average daily wastewater flow of less than 1 million gallons per day
- Are located in a U.S. territory or on tribal lands
Automatic samplers and flow meters, training, and troubleshooting will be provided at no cost to at least 20 utilities or more as the budget allows.
The period of performance will run from April 2025 through July 2025.
