The Family-to-Family Health Information Centers (F2F HIC) program offers funding for new and existing centers that provide information, education, technical assistance, and peer support to families of children and youth with special healthcare needs and the professionals who serve them.
A focus of the program is to to advance health equity by reaching territories, tribal regions, and other diverse, underserved communities, including:
- Black, Latino, Indigenous and Native American persons, Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, and other persons of color
- Members of religious minorities
- Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) persons
- People with disabilities
- Rural areas
- Persons otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty and/or inequality
Program goals and strategies include:
- Assure access to high quality and equitable health services to optimize health and well-being for all maternal and child health (MCH) populations by advancing a well-functioning system of services in which families and health professionals partner in healthcare decision-making
- Achieve health equity for MCH populations by seeking to address health inequities and meet the needs of diverse and underserved families
- Strengthen public health capacity and workforce for MCH by providing education and training for health professionals on how to work with parents/families of children and youth with special healthcare needs (CYSHCN)
- Maximize impact through leadership, partnership, and stewardship
Eligible applicants are any domestic public or private entities including faith-based and community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations.
Award ceiling: $96,750 per year
Project period: 5 years
