Purpose

Road Safety MATCH is a technical assistance program for rural and tribal agencies facing roadway safety challenges. MATCH connects agencies requesting assistance with volunteers who have specific expertise to help successfully address the identified challenges.

Safety assistance may be provided in the areas of:

  • Roadway departure
  • Intersection
  • Speed management
  • Pedestrian and bicycle safety
  • Funding, policy, and guidance
  • Safety planning
  • Other safety issues, as needed
Eligibility

Any local rural or tribal agency is eligible to receive mentoring assistance. Requests must be submitted directly by a public agency.

Technical assistance is provided at no cost, and can be in the form of phone calls, email exchanges, web‐conferences, and/or site visits.
