The National Center for American Indian Health Professions at A. T. Still University offers Pathways to Admissions Workshop to help American Indian and Alaska Native students navigate the medical or other professional school application process, strengthen their applications, and expand their professional networks. The overall goal of the program is to promote health by increasing the number of AI/AN healthcare employees.
The workshop will be held September 12 - 13, 2024 in Mesa, Arizona.
Workshop topics include:
- Virtual hands-on simulation clinic
- Understanding the application process
- Admissions test preparation techniques
- Writing personal statements
- The interview process and mock interviews
- Financial aid and scholarship resources
- ATSU Mesa campus tour
- Networking opportunities
Eligible applicants are American Indian and Alaska Natives who have a connection to an American Indian or Alaska Native tribe, nation, or community and an interest in applying to medical school or other advanced health professions program.
Applicants must be current community college or undergraduate students (18 years or older) or recent college graduates who plan on applying to medical school.
Workshops are provided at no cost to selected students. Travel costs are not covered.
