This program (Short Title: NWD-E2) provides grants to expand opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds with the purpose of strengthening the eldercare workforce in rural communities that have disparities in healthcare access and delivery.
Priorities include:
- Improving mental health access and care
- Transforming the healthcare system through value-based care delivery and quality improvement initiatives
- Transforming the workforce by targeting the need
- Strengthening healthcare access through telehealth
Eligible applicants include:
- Accredited schools of nursing
- Nursing centers
- Academic health centers
- State and local governments
- Tribes and Tribal organizations
- Private and public nonprofit entities, including eligible faith-based and community-based organizations
Award ceiling: $500,000 per year
Project period: 2 years
