Purpose

This program provides a tax credit for eligible primary care professionals and dental health professionals working in underserved areas of Maine.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are primary care professionals working in underserved areas of Maine, including:

  • Allopathic and osteopathic doctors with a specialty of primary care
  • Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants with specialties in primary care
  • Registered nurse
  • Certified clinical nurse specialist
  • Certified nurse midwife
  • Licensed practical nurse

Additional eligibility requirements may be found in the Maine Legislature Statutes.

Tax credit amounts are not stated.

Up to 10 eligible primary care professionals and up to 5 dental health professionals are certified annually.
