Purpose

The American Psychological Association (APA) recognizes exemplary psychology leadership in rural and remote areas.

The award recipient will be invited to receive the award in August during the APA Annual Convention in Seattle.

Eligibility

All nominees must have completed all requirements for a doctoral degree in psychology.

At the time of application and throughout the award process, the nominee must be a member in good standing with one or more psychological association(s):

  • State
  • Territorial
  • Provincial
  • Regional
  • National
  • Ethnic minority
Geographic coverage
Nationwide
Amount of funding

Each year, one awardee will receive a commemorative plaque and a $250 stipend.
