Purpose

The Center for Health Innovation coordinates graduate level rural rotation experiences, job shadowing, practicums, and internships for students in New Mexico from various disciplines.

The program works with higher education institutions to coordinate graduate level rural rotation, practicum, and internship experiences to complete clinical hours needed for:

  • Family medicine residency
  • Medical students
  • Dental students
  • Nurse practitioner students
  • Physician assistant students

Eligibility requirements depend upon the program and the needs of the student.

The coordination services are provided at no charge. There are slots for approximately 60 rotations each year.
