Purpose

The Rural Medical Training Collaborative (RMTC) is offering scholarships to attend the National Institute for Program Director Development (NIPDD).

The NIPDD, which meets in 3 sessions, is designed to enhance knowledge, attitudes, and skills to help participants become more effective residency program directors.

The program includes:

  • Session 1
    October 17 - 20, 2024
    Omni Severin Hotel
    Indianapolis, IN
  • Session 2
    January 16 - 19, 2025
    Kimpton Alma San Diego
    San Diego, CA
  • Session 3
    March 24 - 27, 2025
    Kansas City Marriott Downtown
    Kansas City, MO
  • Complete an in-depth financial project to aid in the understanding of residency program funding and finances
  • Prepare and present an Annual Report to a mock Board of Directors
  • An optional self study project
  • Comprehensive program materials, references, and key resource documents
  • Access to an online community of NIPDD Fellows

Expectations of scholarship recipients:

  • Apply to NIPDD and must be accepted into the program in order to receive the scholarship. The RMTC will then pay the registration fee directly to AFMRD.
  • Attend all required NIPDD sessions and complete NIPDD requirements for 2024-2025
  • Prior to the RMTC Annual Meeting in April 2025, provide a copy of both the financial project and the academic project that are required for successful completion of the NIPDD fellowship
  • Attend and present the academic project at the RMTC Annual Meeting in Santa Fe, NM, tentatively scheduled for April 9-11, 2025. Scholarship recipients automatically qualify for a reduced registration fee to The RMTC Annual Meeting.
