Purpose

The CHS Foundation provides matching grants to cooperatives for projects designed to strengthen and uplift hometown communities. Priority is given to projects that enhance agriculture safety, farmer well-being, agriculture education, and rural community vitality.

Project examples include:

  • Health and safety education programs for elementary students
  • Purchase of multi-gas monitors for firefighter safety
  • Purchase of communications equipment for emergency responders
  • Purchase of trucks and equipment for fire safety and prevention
  • Purchase of ventilators and other equipment and services to address COVID-19 related needs
  • Grain bin safety equipment and training
  • Support of food banks
Eligibility

Any member-cooperative or CHS Country Operations location is eligible to apply. Grant requests must be submitted by a cooperative on behalf of a local organization.

Award ceiling: $10,000
Award floor: $1,000

Eligible applicants may receive up to 2 grants per year.
