Purpose

The Stephen and Tabitha King (STK) Foundation provides grants for projects in Maine that address the underlying causes and consequences of social and environmental problems. Giving priorities include health and human services, literacy, arts, and projects that will affect the most members of a community.

Historically, the Foundation has provided funding for organizations in all counties in Maine, both rural and urban areas.

Past grants have included:

  • Municipal and volunteer public safety projects
  • Oral health outreach
  • Hospitals
  • Disaster relief
  • Services for homeless individuals
Eligibility

Eligible applicants in Maine include:

  • 501(c)(3) organizations
  • Towns
  • Fire and emergency aid departments
  • School systems with tax-exempt status
