The Georgia Physician Assistant Loan Repayment Program (PALRP) provides loan repayment assistance for physician assistants (PAs) who agree to practice full-time in a rural community in Georgia for period of 12 months up to 4 years.
The practice time requirement can be split between two or more counties as long as none of the practice location counties exceeds a population limit of 50,000.
The PA may be employed by a hospital, group medical practice, community health center, or other healthcare organization. There is no requirement that the practice be a nonprofit organization; however, the practice must participate in the Medicaid program, must agree to accept new patients insured by Medicaid, and actively treat Medicaid patients.
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen, legal resident, or foreign national of the United States
- Have satisfied all requirements for unrestricted PA licensure by the Georgia Composite Medical Board
- Be a graduate of an accredited graduate PA education program located in the U.S.
- Practice with a Medicaid Provider in Georgia and actively treat Medicaid Patients
$10,000 a year, with a maximum of $40,000.
