The Iowa Farm Bureau Scholarship offers scholarships to 4th year medical students and 3rd year residents in Iowa who show a strong desire to practice in rural areas of Iowa upon completion of their degrees.
Requirements for residents:
- Completing an Iowa residency program in 2024
- Locating in a practice in a rural Iowa setting under 26,000 population
- Membership in the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians/American Academy of Family Physicians (IAFP/AAFP)
- Demonstrated scholarship and achievement in medical school
Requirements for students:
- Medical student graduating from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine or Des Moines University
- Entering an Iowa Family Medicine Residency program in 2024
- Membership in the IAFP/AAFP
- Demonstrated scholarship and achievement in medical school
$5,000
Scholarships are given to one student and one resident each year.
